Ty's Take
A bank marking seven decades in Otero County is more than a business milestone, it's a marker of what it takes to stay rooted here through boom and bust, through missile range expansions and water fights that never quite get settled. First National has seen the basin change from ranching country to a place where federal payroll keeps the lights on, and it's still here, still lending to the same families and new ones betting their futures on this high desert. That kind of stability matters in a town where so much else feels tied to decisions made somewhere else, in rooms where Alamogordo's name barely comes up.
