Ty's Take
The Rainbow Futurity trials out at the track draw the kind of crowd that reminds you there's still real money and real passion in horse country around here, even with all the talk about missile ranges and space hotels eating up the basin. Two young fillies turned in times that'll get people talking through the fall, the kind of performances that make a breeder believe he's onto something. It's the kind of story that runs deep in Otero County—predates the Air Force, predates White Sands, takes you back to when this was ranch and rangeland and a fast horse meant something. Good to see it still does.
