Anastacia "Tatcha" Thomas was the kind of person this town needs more of—someone who showed up, stayed put, and made things better in the quiet way that doesn't always make the papers until it's too late. We don't know yet what brought her to the end, but we know she was here, that she mattered to people, and that Otero County is smaller today without her. The rest of us keep moving through our days, trading water talk and work schedules and dreams about what comes next, and we forget sometimes that the real measure of a place isn't what gets built or launched from Holloman—it's the neighbors we lose. Tatcha was one of those neighbors.
