The Missouri Department of Conservation is asking hunters and landowners to keep an eye out for hemorrhagic disease in the deer around here, and that's worth taking seriously as we head into fall season. This isn't the first time we've dealt with wildlife disease in Howell County, and anybody who's spent time in a deer stand knows the value of a healthy herd. If you spot a sick or dead deer, the MDC wants to hear about it, and that's the kind of simple act that keeps our hunting heritage on solid ground for the next generation. Report it, don't move it, and let the professionals handle the rest.
