Ty's Take
County law enforcement across the region had a couple rough days this week—drug busts down in Douglas and a shooting situation over in Carter that ended with somebody in custody. These aren't the kind of headlines that surprise anybody who works in a rural sheriffs office or runs a convenience store along the highway, but they do remind you that the meth pipeline running through the Ozarks doesn't take weekends, and it doesn't care much about county lines. The work of keeping this place safe falls on a pretty thin line of deputies and investigators, and when they make a collar, it matters.
