Ty's Take
When money actually finds its way to the classroom and into the hands of kids who need it, you notice. The Paula Kaye Speraneo fund is putting real dollars into West Plains schools this month, and the state's rural education grants landed here too—fourteen grand-plus that'll do what state money's supposed to do, which is show up when the county budget won't stretch far enough. Around here we know what that gap looks like. It's the difference between a field trip happening and not, between a kid getting what she needs and making do. Slow week for other reasons, but some weeks the good news is enough.
