The Copper Flat hearing is coming up again, and before the room fills with certainty on either side, it's worth remembering what actually sits on the table. This mine has been proposed and delayed and studied to death since the 1980s, long enough that folks who first fought it have grandkids old enough to fight it themselves. What's changed is the copper market, the environmental science, and the water table we all depend on. You don't have to know which way you'll vote to know that getting the facts straight matters more than the passion, and that's harder work than either side usually does.
