Two solid reasons to get outside before the cold really sets in. The free gardening series starting up here in the county is exactly the kind of practical education that works best when you're learning it hands-on, watching what grows and what doesn't in actual Ozarks soil instead of reading about it in some book. And tonight's partial lunar eclipse is the kind of thing that reminds you why our ancestors paid attention to the sky, even if we've mostly stopped doing it. Worth stepping away from whatever's on the screen and remembering that some of the best entertainment costs nothing at all and happens right overhead.
