When a woman walks into court asking a judge to throw out charges against her, the first question around here is usually simple: what changed? Not the evidence, necessarily. Not what she's accused of. But something in the story shifted enough that she or her lawyer figured the courthouse was the better bet than whatever comes next. We don't know the details yet, but this is the kind of motion that tends to crack things open in a small county, where everybody knows the accused and half of them know why she ended up there.
