Ty's Take
A fire pulled everybody's attention this week, the kind of call that brings the whole county to a standstill when the sirens start up, and there's nothing quite like seeing what our volunteer departments can do when seconds matter. In between the big moment, though, life kept moving the way it does around here: the highway patrol was out working traffic stops over in Cabool, the school district had crews laying asphalt and rerouting folks through Licking, and Roby's getting ready for a parade come mid-September. We lost David Wayne Cope, which means another family's got a hole that won't quite fill. Three people went to the hospital after a wreck down south on Sunday night. High school football's starting up, which means Friday nights are already spoken for. It's the rhythm of it all, the big moments and the everyday ones, that keeps a county like Texas County turning.
