The Veterans Affairs folks down in Poplar Bluff are tearing up the parking lot and access roads at the Pershing center, which means if you or someone you know has an appointment out there, you'd better call ahead and find out exactly where you're supposed to go. We've got enough veterans in this county who made that drive plenty of times without needing the added frustration of construction detours and closed entrances, especially the ones dealing with serious business. It's the kind of project that makes sense on paper but leaves real people sitting in their car trying to figure out which way to turn. Worth making a phone call before you head out.
