Ty's Take
It's a pretty quiet news day around the Lake, but I want to tip my hat to that Camdenton city official earning top honors statewide — those clerk positions are the backbone of local government, handling everything from elections to public records, and recognition like this usually means someone's been going above and beyond for their community. The Major League Fishing tournament win is nice local color, but what caught my eye was that supply shop story — in small communities like ours, local businesses that can surprise you with their depth and inventory are gold, especially when you're trying to avoid the drive to Columbia or Springfield for every little thing. These are the kinds of locally-owned operations that keep money circulating in our community instead of bleeding out to the big box stores.
