Ty's Take
Fire season's here whether we're ready or not, and most of the valley's under restrictions now—which means anybody thinking about burning slash piles or clearing land needs to check before they strike a match, because one dry spark in this country spreads faster than news at the co-op. The moisture we got last winter helped, but we're still walking a thin line between managing our ground and watching it burn, and that's especially true come August when the monsoons either show up or they don't. So before you fire up that clearing operation, call ahead and know where you stand. It's the difference between getting your work done and calling the volunteer fire department out on a ridge when they've got better places to be.
