Ty's Take

You notice how the valley keeps trying to take care of itself in small, steady ways—the city installing traffic cameras to make streets safer, schools and nonprofits doubling down on mental health because they see what's happening to their kids, the communities still showing up for Cinco de Mayo after six years running. None of it's flashy. None of it makes the regional news. But this is what holding a place together looks like at 7,500 feet: you fix what you can, you pay attention to the young people, and you don't skip the festivals that remind you who you are. The music and art will keep coming too—Society Hall's still got shows booked. That matters more than people think in a town this size.
