Ty's Take

Memorial Day weekend's going to pack the highways worse than usual, which means two things for folks around here: the Sand Dunes are about to get a lot busier, and anybody trying to get north toward Denver or south into New Mexico better plan their timing carefully. There's always that tension this time of year between wanting to see the valley come alive with visitors and frankly just wanting the roads back. The college will be quieter with students heading home, the restaurants will be slammed, and if you're trying to get anywhere on I-25, you might as well bring a book. It's the price we pay for living in a place people actually want to visit.
