Ty's Take
You notice something when you read down today's calendar—the rodeos are packed, the Big Give teams are fanned out across town with real work to do, and out at Trotter's place there's still somebody breeding horses like there's a future in it. That's not small talk in a military town where the base paycheck can feel like the only reliable thing. It's locals betting on locals, the ranching families and the shop owners and the volunteers deciding that Alamogordo's backbone isn't just what flies out of Holloman or what tourists come to see at the Space Museum. The jobs piece tells you employers here want to hire people who know the country, know the work—and that matters more than it sounds like it should.
